Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Position Summary:

Under the direction of a primary care physician or Medical Director, the physician assistant provides primary medical care for hospitalized, partially hospitalized and outpatients. The duties encompass primary or specialty medical care, coordination of patient care; instruction/supervision of other health care personnel and administrative duties as required.

License/Certifications: Maine licensure with the Maine State Board of Osteopathic Licensure of the Board of Licensure in Medicine. Basic Life Support Certification. Specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by SHH Medical Staff By-Laws.

Experience: 1+ year of patient care in a community mental health center or hospital is preferred.
