Current MaineHealth employees not eligible for the sign on bonus. Must be separated from MaineHealth system for 6 months to be eligible.

Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist II role performs diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems of patients to aid physicians/advanced practice practitioners in diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders. Administers respiratory care modalities and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiovascular system, under supervision of the physician/advanced practice practitioner. Performs charge role and precepts new team members and students.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate from AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy required.

2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license in Respiratory Care, RRT, or CRRT required. Current BLS Certification required. Current ACLS, PALS and NRP Certifications required or must obtain within one year of start date or in accordance with department guidelines.

3. Experience: One year of acute care experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Respiratory Therapist role.
