We design and manufacture complex, high performance, high-value bearings in steel and advanced ceramics. Our production group - our technologies and products are at the heart of aerospace industry and the world's leading manufactures.

We currently have an opportunity available at out Falconer, NY, location for a Manufacturing Engineer with a passion to lead and a fire in the belly only satisfied when a job is well done. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will be responsible for all facets of manufacturing processes and procedures, working with both Product Engineering and Operations.

Responsibilities:



  • Defines proper manufacturing process steps for new and existing engineered products.


  • Estimates correct labor standards. Tracks variances and performs root cause analysis, implementing corrections/countermeasures as needed to improve standards.


  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge of product design, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.


  • Develops standard manufacturing processes to minimize process and quality variations (standard work).


  • Develops and maintains appropriate written manufacturing procedures to ensure knowledge capture and transfer.


  • Designs and specifies tooling and fixtures needed to manufacture products.


  • Understands heat treating, machining, and grinding methods and processes.


  • Leads manufacturing engineering projects and process improvements.


  • Develops and maintains equipment Total Productive and Preventative Maintenance Program. Ensures operators are trained against TPPM processes.


  • Plans and oversees layout of manufacturing equipment and production facilities and capital projects.


  • Conducts studies in operations to optimize work flow and spatial utilization. Ensures facility efficiency and workplace safety.


  • Maintains product and company reputation by understanding and complying with government regulations and company policies.


  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.


  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


  • Other duties as assigned.





Requirements:



  • Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures/manuals.


  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, and operational personnel.


  • Ability to read manufacturing prints.


  • Competent with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, etc.)


  • Cad/Cam NX preferred.


  • Understand and perform work in a safe and helpful manner.
