About the Role The Procurement Buyer, Contract Logistic will ensure that every dollar spent is spent professionally. This is achieved by reducing operating expenses and driving a value-based mindset by applying procurement capabilities and tools. The procurement function aims to attain a competitive vendor base to support Maersk's Integrator strategy with an operational footprint that delivers strong service levels, at cost, and on time. In This Role, You Will: * Managing various procurement categories within Maersk's Warehousing & Distribution Business Unit (warehouses, depots, cold chain) across a wide range of procurement areas including responsibility for all strategic suppliers and vendors within the category. * Execute end-to-end sourcing projects across a wide range of procurement areas such as asset purchases, leases, rentals, asset disposals, and racking and conveyance systems. This includes activities from developing 'Total Cost of Ownership' models to understanding cost structures to building the ideal negotiation strategy and executing accordingly. * Perform supplier market analysis and organise market intelligence for all types of assets including trucks, tractors, chassis, trailers, MHE, warehouse racking, and warehouse automated systems, and benchmark Maersk costs with competition to ensure we are cost competitive. * Integrating and centralizing procurement activity within a specific category for 140+ locations within North America. * Support Maersk's Sustainability Goals by partnering with suppliers and vendors on decarbonization initiatives wherever and whenever possible. * Develop and execute complex and large capex negotiations for WnD categories and establish Service Level Agreements with all key suppliers. * Deliver procurement benefits (realized savings, service level improvements, etc.) and make sure these are realized through measurement and follow-up. * Responsible to reuse any surplus racking, automation, or camera systems we have on-hand before spending new capital. * Cooperating closely with colleagues and stakeholders in North America and within Maersk with Product Teams including, Operations, Finance, Commercial, Engineering and other regions in Maersk. What You Bring: * Must have a bachelor's degree. * 3-6 years of operations or procurement experience. * Entrepreneurial spirit and operational agility are a must. * Proven ability to learn quickly and have a growth mindset. * Complex negotiation skills and an understanding of responsible procurement practices. * Demonstrated history of strong analytical skills with experience in Excel based modelling including the development and use of total cost of ownership (TCO) models. * Experience integrating and standardizing varying processes to optimize procurement functions. * Prior experience or knowledge in digitization and automation of standard procurement activities. * The ability to manage stakeholders in operations, finance, commercial and corporate. * Experience with standard procurement processes such as: category management, sourcing execution, contract management, negotiation strategy, analysis of markets, finances, and suppliers. * Engineering and warehouse design experience is a plus. Job Type: Full Time Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 USD* Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, and 401k Match. *The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.
