Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Business Analyst, supporting the Space Division at the Kennedy Space Center, FL.

The Financial Business Analyst will analyze processes and activities to improve business applications for the most effective use of money, materials, equipment, and people. Utilizes available computer systems resources and personnel to carry out analysis to support management's quest for performance improvement. Reviews and analyzes information, forecasts, methods, schedules, systems, processes, and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of related experience
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship
  • Experience with excel and pivot tables.
  • Ability to forecast based on actuals and stay within budget goals.
  • Ability to analyze costs compared to budget and drivers of variances.
  • Experience with invoice generation and billing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experience with Costpoint preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Maximo preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team environment, ability to foster strong relationships with mixed technological experience such as auditors, business professionals, and engineers

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Estimate project costs based on labor and other direct costs.
  • Monitor and approve procurement requests based on planned budget.
  • Track and report actual versus budget costs to support weekly and monthly schedules.
  • Create financial reports for laboratories and review regularly with management and customer focused on trends, performance, variances, and estimates to complete.
  • Recommend alternative solutions to management as to courses of action that best meet the organization's goals.
