Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Tactical Integration Test Engineer for the TMAS 2 96 CTG Task Order, supporting the 46 TS / TGBC.

Our tactical integration test team is searching for new test engineer professionals that can help us design and execute test events. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, learning new technology areas, this is the place for you. We provide several opportunities to learn ranging from on-the-job training with other team members to formal courses for unique technology areas.

We realize that no one will have all of these qualifications. We are looking for people that have a system engineering foundation and have the drive and motivation to learn all other required areas. Position responsibilities can span from customized test configurations to lab infrastructure support.

This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron at Eglin AFB as a member of a Tactical Integration Element (TIE) responsible for planning, designing, and executing test events for tactical integration programs.

JOB DETAILS

LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL

JOB STATUS: Full Time

TRAVEL: 35% CONUS / OCONUS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and a minimum of 3 years of technical experience is required. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
  • An active Secret Clearance adjudicated within the past five years with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Working knowledge of tactical data links and systems; preferably with TOC-L.
  • Ability to communicate and present technical details both written and verbally.
  • Able to travel to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations, CONUS and OCONUS, up to 35% of the time.
  • Strong work ethic; Comfortable working in and leading a team with minimal supervision.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Good understanding of basic networking
  • Technical experience with DoD digital/tactical information distribution data links; preferably with Link 16, JREAP, TTNT, UCI, and VMF.
  • Technical experience in the areas related to data link radios, radio frequency waves/propagation, and ad hoc computer networks.
  • Experience and knowledge of serial, Internet Protocol (IP), Line of Sight (LOS), and Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) tactical datalinks.
  • Technical knowledge of DoD Air Defense Systems.
  • Technical knowledge of DoD radar sensor and sensor formats.
  • Experience with GPS systems.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Understanding of DT&E processes, specifically acquisition program development and detailed knowledge of Air Force Command and Control (C2) test methodologies including AFI 99-103, Capabilities based Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E).
  • Knowledge of system analysis and application software development concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate emerging technologies in a DT&E environment.
  • Knowledge of networking, Security+, CompTIA certifications, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform as a member of the 46 TS TIE Test Team.
  • Interface directly with system Program Management Offices, other services, Joint Battle Labs, product development contractors, and Field Service Representatives.
  • Plan, execute, and report on and associated datalink systems that employ Link 16, Joint Range Extension Application Protocols (JREAPs), Satellite Communication (SATCOM), Multifunction Advanced Data Link (MADL), Variable Message Format (VMF), Cursor on Target (CoT), extensible markup language (XML), Mobile Ad hoc Networking (MANET), Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI), Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC), Integrated Fire Control Network (IFCN), and various other US, Joint, and Coalition capabilities.
  • Familiar with Advanced Battle Management System (AMBS), Tactical Operations Center-Light (TOC-L), and TOC Family of Systems (FoS) Concepts.
  • Familiar with various radios to include Small Tactical Terminals (STT), Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Joint Tactical Radio System Terminal (MIDS-JTRS), PRC-161, PRC-117G, PRC-152A, PRC-163, PRC-167, PRC-160, Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT), Remotely Operated Vehicle for Emplacement & Reconnaissance (ROVER), etc.
  • Proficient with various network, compute, and/or routing/switch devices to include Cisco, Juniper, etc.
  • Proficient with Starlink/Starshield.
  • Proficient with Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Proficient with configuring and managing interface settings, such as VLANs.
  • Proficient/familiar with various High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryption (HAIPE) encryption devices including KG-175F/N.
  • Engage in technical engineering roles, review customer requirements, and participate in test planning.
  • Develop in depth understanding of applicable Military Standards such as MIL-STDs 3011, 6016, 6020, etc.
  • Develop and manage test plans and procedures, schedules, execute a test within the constraints of customer requirements, and produce timely test reports.
  • Capable of performing as a team leader in directing and executing system testing.
  • Author technical documents, conduct briefings and formal presentations.
  • Travel to locations, as required, to conduct tests, collect, and reduce data.
