Position Summary

The Clinical Director provides direct clinical services and interventions to consumers in both individual and group settings. The Clinical Director provides overall clinical supervision, management, and support to staff in treatment planning and the provision of direct services. The Clinical Director insures that the program supports the individual goals of consumers and that the recovery process is encouraged. The Clinical Director will stringently uphold the integrity of the RHD Values as outlined in the employee handbook and insure that they inform all services provided within the RTF.

In addition, the Clinical Director demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of the consumers and staff, displays a caring and supportive attitude at all times, represents the program in a positive manner, and promotes and contributes positively to the program and program relationships. The Clinical Director maintains the confidentiality of its residents and employees and upholds the integrity of RHD Values as outlined in the employee handbook.

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Provides clinical supervision to staff individually or in groups, ensuring quality of care and service delivery.
  • Ensures that services meet the resident's needs. These may include vocational, educational, medical, dental, legal, behavioral health, financial, housing and/or recreation services. Emphasis will be on those services that enhance independent living.
  • Evaluates the quality, effectiveness, and consumer satisfaction of those services.
  • Directly supervises the Clinical Manager and Clinicians.
  • Organizes and facilitates clinical team meetings for each resident. Ensures that the program supports goals for each resident.
  • Facilitates weekly Treatment Team meetings
  • Reviews and approves all Treatment Plans
  • Conducts family meetings when required
  • Participates in program development, continuous quality improvement activities, and the evaluation of staff
  • Responsible for program compliance regarding documentation, mandatory reporting laws, incident reporting and related compliance issues
  • Leads therapy or psycho-educational groups as needed
  • Reviews residents' charts on a regular basis to ensure that charts are current and complete according to regulations and quality of care standards.
  • Coordinates and in some cases provide professional development training throughout the year.
  • Work closely with members of the administrative team regarding program development, policy and procedures, staffing patting patterns, daily routines, etc.
  • Provides support to family members of residents in regard to resident goals and recovery. Outreach to family members as appropriate.
  • Assesses and evaluates referrals for admissions to the program. Attends meetings when individuals are hospitalized.
  • Provides crisis intervention as needed.
  • Consults regularly with the Director and Program Managers
  • Provides hours on rotating shifts as required and be all call on rotating basis
  • Performs other duties as required by Director.

Requirements

Qualifications

  1. Master's Degree in Social Work preferred, with 5 years related experience
  2. Minimum of one-year experience in a residential environment.
  3. Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team required.
  4. Excellent writing and communication skills necessary.
  5. Driver's license required.
