About the Role The Director Sales, Electric Vehicles (EVs) manages the day-to-day activities of several key accounts, plans and implements sales and product development programs (both short and long term), develops a strategic sales plan, and executes tactics to increase revenue at key EV accounts. This individual will direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly, combined with direct channel development activity. The successful candidate will create and cultivate strategic relationships. What You Will Do
- Develop, manage, and nurture relationships with key EV accounts.
- Manage the day-to-day activities and needs of EV accounts.
- Conduct needs analysis and deliver sales presentations to key accounts to identify and deliver revenue growth actions.
- Develop and implements strategic sales action plans to achieve and exceed sales revenue targets.
- Identify future product and/or solutions, develop the customer use case and Harman business case, and work collaboratively inside and outside the organization to successfully execute revenue growing product solutions.
- Review market analysis and competitive environment to determine customer needs, existing or new Harman solutions, pricing, and timing.
- Present product programs, business cases, new RFQ opportunities to senior executives for review/discussion/approval.
- Meet with key clients to strengthen relationships at key accounts, negotiate sales programs, and close deals.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional Harman team members, inclusive of Sales, Engineering, Customer Program Management, Marketing, Finance, and Legal.
- Track and prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client revenue expansion.
- Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
- Regularly monitors sales performance across customer products.
- Monitor performance against sales targets, reviews product sales vs. forecast for account products, ensure program costs are within budget, and evaluate progress on mutually agreed goals and objectives.
- Align and discuss with leadership on recommended changes in sales strategies and tactics needed to achieve sales goals or objectives.
What You Need
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in sales management with a proven track record of growing and sustaining sales revenue.
- Proven experience in developing and executing sales strategies and tactics at key accounts.
- Prior demonstrated account management experience.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Prior experience in the design and/or sale of automotive technologies.
- Ability in working cross-functionally with external and internal customers globally.
- Technical degree and/or background in the electronics field or automotive technologies.
What is Nice to Have
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced/high-pressure environment, while maintaining and nurturing strong customer relationships.
- Ability to assimilate information quickly, efficiently, and accurately from varying sources.

What Makes You Eligible
- Be willing to travel up to 30%, domestic and international travel
- Be willing to work in an office or home office in California
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
- This position requires the use of a use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN's sole discretion, no more than 4 active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years
