Summary:

The Project Manager for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) will play a critical role in ensuring that safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible business practices are developed, implemented, and maintained. This role will lead initiatives within the EHS teams across Alaska and the lower 48 states, as well as work cross-functionally with other key stakeholders.

Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs)

  • Plans, implements, and manages environmental health and safety (EHS) projects to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Conducts risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate potential gaps in EHS programs and initiatives.
  • Develops and enforces safety policies, procedures, and training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Coordinates with regulatory agencies to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal environmental and safety laws.
  • Supports incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Supports hazardous materials, waste disposal, and environmental impact reduction initiatives.
  • Leads operational projects to ensure alignment with EHS objectives.
  • Develops and monitors project timelines, budgets, and deliverables related to EHS compliance and improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and human resources, to integrate EHS practices into business operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for EHS programs and regulatory submissions.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $90k to $130k.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS or project management roles.
  • A proven track record of managing EHS programs and/or projects successfully.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Preferred education and experience

  • Applicable Professional Certifications, such as: Project Management Professional (PMP), or other related certifications.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cultural change related to safety and sustainability.
  • Expertise in sustainability initiatives and environmental impact reduction programs.
