General Purpose of Job: The Manager of Hospital Financial Operations Sparrow reports to the Regional Director of Hospital Finance. This position will provide operational leadership in the development and implementation of financial management, budgeting, forecasting and plays a key role in making recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies. This position serves as a liaison between the financial reporting team and operations teams at all Sparrow entities. This leadership position will serve as a financial resource to operational leaders, provide Labor insights, financial reporting and analysis, and recommend expense management improvements and evaluation of growth opportunities.
Essential Duties
- Provide leadership in developing all aspects of the annual and long-range financial plans of Sparrow and its operations.
- Support the Executive Team, Hospital and System Boards and Medical Staff in analyzing all Hospital operations.
- Provide service line support and analytics and general financial planning for Sparrow Hospital
- Determine staffing needs and standards of productivity, develop highly effective team standards and job classifications to meet the challenges of the healthcare finance department.
- Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth and development by keeping abreast of the latest trends, rules and regulation guiding healthcare financing and policy.
- Maintain effective communication with operational leaders within the Hospital and Health System.
- Collaborate with leadership and front-line team members to execute organizational strategies and lead change initiatives across the Hospital.
- Create executive level reporting packages to communicate key performance indicators with operational areas, identifying, evaluating, and implementing initiatives to improve financial performance.
- Provide direction and guidance for direct report Team Members; develop Team Member skills and abilities; provide mentoring and career guidance.
- Work with hospital leaders to support and manage the development, preparation and coordination of the budgeting and forecasting process for the System.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities concurrently, as well as meeting deadlines while documenting workflow.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral as well as analytical skills.
- Individual will be required to assume other duties as assigned.
- Follows established HIPAA privacy procedures when using or disclosing protected health information and procedures and protocols as defined under the HIPAA privacy and security procedures.
