Job Summary

Coordinate the successful enrollment of military-affiliated students through: university-wide and external community outreach and training; outbound student and partner communications; student transition and support programming; new student recruitment; and other efforts to meet the goals of Georgia Southern University.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate recruiting and orientation activities for military-affiliated students in collaboration with Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Represent the University at SOARs, high school fairs, military education fairs, and organize Military Visit Days and orientation programs for military-connected students.
  • Engage with community organizations, civic groups, and external agencies to support the University's mission for military-affiliated students.
  • Develop and deliver training programs (e.g., Green Zone training) for faculty, staff, and students to foster support for military and veteran initiatives.
  • Create and maintain programs and special events specifically for veteran students.
  • Organize events to cultivate a military and veteran-friendly campus culture, including programming for military-affiliated students.
  • Oversee hiring, training, and supervision of VA and Georgia Southern student employees on the Statesboro Campus.
  • Manage operations of the Military Resource Center and support services for military-affiliated students on the Statesboro Campus.
  • Certify Tuition Assistance requests for active duty, guard, and reserve service members as needed.
  • Oversee departmental communications, including newsletters, websites, and other media.
  • Focus on initiatives to ensure the success, retention, progression, and graduation of military-affiliated students.
  • Develop marketing strategies to highlight military-affiliated students and related University initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze data to improve outreach efforts, retention, persistence, and graduation rates of military-affiliated students.


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience


Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable about active-duty military education, experience and training and their relation to a higher education curriculum

Preferred Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of Higher Education Experience
  • Experience working with military-affiliated students


Proposed Salary

$20.71 - $21.97 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
