Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV for
NJMS-Microbiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, conducts specialized basic research experiments, trains students and staff as specified, and assists in the preparation of science-related documents as described in the job description. Also assists in the management and coordination of a small research laboratory.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Assists in the establishment of performance standards, as well as in the selection of methodology and instrumentation.
- Assists in conducting a continuous program of research and development. Evaluates existing procedures and proposes modifications or changes in order to keep the methodology and procedures current.
- As assigned, performs various research and technical procedures.
- Assists with the instructing and training of students, fellows, technicians and laboratory assistants as assigned.
- Keeps detailed records of procedures, experiments, and data analysis.
- Presents experimental results at lab and Departmental meetings, and national conferences as determined by the Principal Investigator.
- Conducts targeted literature searches and online web searches as directed of relevant material needed to inform and advance brainstorming and developing hypotheses in the laboratory of the Principal Investigator.
- Submits purchase recommendations to the Principal Investigator of supplies, reagents, and equipment
