The Kellogg School of Management and the Paula M. Trienens Institute For Sustainability and Energy (ISEN) at Northwestern University are seeking a full-time Post-Doctoral Fellow to develop and co-lead research projects relevant to Energy and Climate Economics, with a focus on applied empirical work. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will work closely with Professors Meghan Busse and Mar Reguant, and will collaborate with other Kellogg and Northwestern faculty members. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will also have opportunities to collaborate with other Post-Doctoral Fellows at ISEN as part of the "Six Pillars of Decarbonization" initiative.

Research Focus and Areas

This position offers the opportunity to conduct innovative and impactful research across key climate policy areas, including electricity transmission, transportation fuels, and energy markets.

The postdoctoral scholar will work closely with Professors Meghan Busse and Mar Reguant on research projects related to energy markets and climate policy. The postdoctoral scholar will also have the opportunity and time to work on their own work and will be given space to share their research projects with the community.

Responsibilities and Key activities include:

- Collaboration with Professors Busse and Reguant on ongoing research projects, and development of new research projects of joint interest
- Attendance at research seminars in the Economics Department and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern
- Meeting monthly with other ISEN Pillars postdoctoral scholars and graduate students to share research updates and strengthen community among research trainees
The role offers scholars the opportunity to lead research projects, contribute to the existing research agenda, and build their own pipeline of work as they prepare for a future tenure-track position.

Qualifications:
* Strong background in economics, with a focus on applied research relevant to energy markets
* A proven ability to contribute to academic publications and policy-oriented research.
* Preference will be given to candidates with institutional/engineering knowledge of the key challenges in the sector.
* No teaching or administrative duties are required.
* The term for this position is for one year.
* Applicants with a tenure track offer who are able to defer it for one year are given priority.
