OPEN RANK INSTRUCTIONAL TRACK FACULTY

The Department of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Iowa invites applications for an Open Rank Instructional Track Faculty. The appointment will begin August 20, 2025. The candidate's primary responsibility will be teaching undergraduate courses that fulfill general education and departmental requirements in sociology and criminology. The initial appointment is for one year (2025-26), renewable for up to two years (2026-27 and 2027-28), and renewable thereafter in three-year increments, pending collegiate approval and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This track does not include the possibility of tenure, but otherwise parallels the tenure track with various ranks (Assistant Professor of Instruction, Associate Professor of Instruction, Professor of Instruction).
