Atlantic Region CBO (uhs.com)

The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Scheduling Supervisor for our Pre-Services Team.

The primary responsibility of the Scheduling Supervisor is to work in conjunction with the Pre-Services Manager and The George Washington University Hospital to coordinate the operational activities of the Pre-Services department.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Accurately schedule and pre-register patients in accordance with guidelines in the scheduling application for assigned outpatient procedures and in accordance with ancillary department specifications, including but not limited to: adding and deleting procedures, rescheduling, QA, monitor volume and modality as needed.
  • Assist patient inquiries by resolving timely and providing accurate information for issue resolution.
  • Set examples and maintain courteous and professional attitude with internal and external customers and co-workers.
  • Completes training of new hires and ongoing in services as appropriate concerning areas of responsibility.
  • Monitor incoming call volume to assure patient/physician satisfaction.
  • Monitor and coach individual productivity standards on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to ensure patient/physician satisfaction goals and objectives are met.
  • Review and/or create daily weekly and monthly reports assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • An in depth knowledge and understanding of outpatient diagnostic appointment scheduling.
  • A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and easily able to coach and mentor front line staff.
  • Guides individuals internally and externally to desired outcomes.
  • Develops strong working relationships with physician offices, facility personnel to assure accurate and timely resolution of issues related to Scheduling, Registration, Insurance Verification and Pre Services.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and writing.
  • Customer focused, providing service consistently exceeding expectations to both internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and others as required. Ability to prioritize needs and to manage resources effectively.
  • Must consistently go above and beyond expectations in the practice of Service Excellence.
