We are currently hiring a Maintenance Manager

Location: Hoya Vision - Franklin Park, IL (Chicago)

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with evenings and weekends when needed.

Travel: 60% (domestic and foreign travel)

What you'll do:



  • Manage and improve existing maintenance programs through exercise of discretion and independent judgment.
  • Repair equipment as required and help train lab personnel as needed.
  • Create new preventive maintenance processes and checklists.
  • Complete maintenance audits for USA, CAN and Mex HOYA lab network to confirm proper procedures are being followed.
  • Review and update existing maintenance procedures to standardize network for USA, Canada and Mexico.
  • Help train and manage new maintenance initiatives with documentation.
  • Communicate with multiple laboratories to aid in maintenance support planning.
  • Recognize trends during audits and notify team and management.
  • Communicate effectively to lab leadership through written correspondence, email, and phone.
  • Special assignments or projects as assigned by management.
  • Continue to support primary lab when not traveling. Completes maintenance duties and assists GM with tasks including production duties.
  • Working through LGM's and/or maintenance manager who supervises employees in the lab to support maintenance programs needs and requests for labs. This will include onsite visits and support remotely.
  • Identify and implements standardized maintenance procedures approved by the National Lab Operations Manager, including PM schedules on all equipment, coordinating implementation of new technologies/equipment to improve equipment uptime and to lower repair costs through regular scheduled upkeep of all equipment in the facilities.
  • Reinforce best practices, standards, and safety measures to ensure effective and consistent execution of machine output and quality.
  • The Maintenance Program Manager may be asked to perform additional duties sometimes to support the primary lab and labs in the network.
  • While onsite, monitor machine performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
  • Provide regular Maintenance program updates to the National Maintenance Manager and regional RVP.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations and equipment.

Qualifications:



  • Ten plus years of industry or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of equipment in the industry and technical experience with equipment and maintenance required.
  • Working through LGM's and/or maintenance manager who supervises employees in the lab to support maintenance programs needs and requests for labs. This will include onsite visits and supporting remotely.
  • Must have demonstrable knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office in a Windows environment, with a capacity to master company specific software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and lab personnel.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and sit.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing to travel 60% of the time and in some cases, you will be required to travel outside of the US.
