Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding aDirector of Rheumatologyto join the Department of Medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx.The Hospitals are part of NYC Health + Hospitals which is the nation's largest public health system. Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronxhas 213 licensed beds. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicineto maintain its high healthcare delivery standards. If desired, all Medicine Faculty Members have Albert Einstein College of Medicine appointments.

NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx has a most vibrant Rheumatology practice. The practice boasts active Lupus Clinics, Joint Pain Clinics, Ultrasound Evaluation and Treatment Clinics, Arthritis Clinics, and a Biologic Infusion Center.

  • The practice includes both inpatient and outpatient care andclinical supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • At its peak, the practice has 1,700 unique patients between the two hospitals, with 52 receiving routine Biologic Infusion Therapy.
  • The practice has an active Lupus Clinic, Joint Pain Clinics, Ultrasound Evaluation and Treatment Clinics and Arthritis Clinics.
  • The JacobiInpatient service averages 7 consults per day, while North Central Bronx averages 3-5 consults per day.
  • Department of Medicine hasapproximately 110 full-time physicians and 162 medical residents, within15 Divisions ofall medical specialties.
  • Provide clinical leadership and strategic direction for the Division of Rheumatology, overseeing inpatient and outpatient services at both Jacobi and North Central Bronx Hospitals.
  • Mentor and supervise a team of dedicated attending rheumatologists, fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Foster a collaborative and academically enriching environment, promoting research and scholarly activities.
  • Represent the Division on hospital committees and liaise with the Department of Medicine and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical programs and services, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in teaching rounds,lectures,and other educational activities.
  • Oversee resident and fellow rotations, ensuring a comprehensive and rigorous training experience.
  • Collaborate with the Montefiore Medical Center Rheumatology Fellowship Program to integrate fellows into the clinical and academic environment at Jacobi and North Central Bronx Hospitals.
  • Secure external funding for research and educational initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Board Certified and Fellowship Trained in Rheumatology with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an academic medical center setting.
  • Strong commitment to teaching and mentoring future generations of rheumatologists.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
  • Experience in clinical research and grant writing is preferred.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $244,210* based on 40-hour work week.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $308,631**, which includes the baseline salary, 401 (k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses.
  • Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position.
