AWM Private is the primary center for Goldman Sachs' long-term principal investing activity. Goldman Sachs has operated this business as an integral part of the firm for more than 35 years. AMW Private consists primarily of six main asset management businesses, including Corporate Equity, Growth Equity, Corporate Credit, Infrastructure, Sustainability and Real Estate. Investments are made on behalf of Goldman Sachs, its employees and clients of the firm through a series of investment vehicles and other strategies.

Within AWM, the Finance group supports each asset management business through a variety of functions, including managing the valuation process for each AMW Private business (e.g., recommending appropriate month-end / quarter-end equity and debt valuations) and analyzing, budgeting and projecting the performance of each business. This position will be within the AWM Finance group assisting in both the monthly / quarterly valuation process and the budgeting process.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The successful applicant will have an ability to understand financial information, draw relationships and raise issues or concerns. He/she will have a high degree of integrity, strong attention to detail and be highly motivated and client focused. He/she will support more senior team members with a variety of items including a range of recurring tasks, project-based work and ad hoc analyses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Determine and support appropriate fair market values across multiple investing disciplines and geographies
  • Prepare / maintain multi-year departmental revenue, balance sheet and other risk metric forecasts, involving multiple investment strategies
  • Maintain working knowledge of significant investments and forecasting assumptions
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the valuation and budgeting process
  • Responding to ad hoc requests and preparing analyses for same


QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business discipline
  • Strong understanding of capital and debt markets
  • Strong analytical skills and detail orientation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral as well as written
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and handle stressful situations
  • Ability to work independently in a small team, exhibit initiative and be proactive
  • Ability to organize and analyze large volumes of information
  • Team player, willing to help in areas not explicitly related to job duties
  • Comfortable working with a manager in a remote location
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
