Job Details This position provides clinical leadership for the staff and management of the OR environment and Orthopedic and Neurosurgery specifically. Serves as a primary resource for AORN standards and assumes a leadership role in developing monitoring and evaluating clinical practice in orthopedics and neurosurgery This position requires providing service to all age populations, neonatal through frail elderly, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and developmental age of the individual served.Job Description Education/Training/Experience: BSN education preferred. Five years clinical experience in perioperative nursing. Two years' experience in a/leadership nursing role preferred. Two years' experience in orthopedics and neurosurgery required. ______________________________________________________________________________ Licenses/Certifications: Current PA RN License required; CNOR preferred and required within (6) months of employment in the position. ______________________________________________________________________________ Physical Demand Analysis: Physical Requirements: Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, positioning, and moving patients & equipment. Physical agility and manual dexterity are required to handle a variety of supplies, equipment, and technical tasks. Visual Requirements: Must be able to see charts, read numbers from a distance, and read small print and have visual dexterity to work with computers. Must be able to work in situations of reduced lighting and to handle and account for microscopic needles. Hearing Requirements: Must be able to discern voice commands in normal to low voice volumes in an environment of varying noise levels. Must be able to complete assessments using a stethoscope, listen on the phone and hear general conversation. Working Conditions: Possible exposure to radiation, hazardous chemicals, and bio-hazardous smoke, blood, and body fluids.
