Your Role With Us: Medical Office Assistant- Cardiology ClinicKey Responsibilities:Patient Interaction:Greet patients and visitors, provide directions, and deliver courteous service.Assist patients with scheduling, follow-ups, and referrals.Phone & Communication:Operate the telephone and paging systems, screen/direct calls, and relay messages professionally.Scheduling & Registration:Verify physician orders, schedule appointments efficiently, and handle no-shows or late arrivals.Register patients with high accuracy, ensuring proper identification and information gathering.Insurance & Billing:Verify insurance benefits, collect co-pays, and assist with payment plans.Obtain authorizations and ensure accurate recording of diagnoses and ICD codes.Patient Records:Maintain patient charts, comply with HIPAA regulations, and process medical records requests.Charge Entry & Workqueues:Enter charges accurately, resolve work queue assignments promptly, and assist with department workflows.Template Management:Edit and update scheduling templates to align with departmental needs.Data Collection & Reporting:Compile data for performance improvement, scheduling, and other metrics.Inventory Management:Maintain and order department supplies with a focus on cost-effectiveness. Exceptional computer skills and the ability to quickly master multiple computer programs required. 2. Knowledge of business and office machines such as: fax, telephone, computer/printer, copier; reception skills required. 3. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to work in a very busy, multidisciplinary setting. 4. Must have good clerical skills, including typing (60 wpm) and excellent telephone etiquette and good organizational and record-keeping skills. 5. Must have the ability to hold information in confidence. 6. Must have appropriate manner, conduct and grooming and present a professional image. 7. Previous EPIC experience a plus.
