Job Summary

Serve as the front-line learning leader of the Mathematics and Engineering department. Responsible for promoting academic, administrative, and fiscal leadership in accordance with TCC's mission, vision, and core values.

This is a Safety Sensitive position pursuant to Oklahoma Statute OKLA. STAT. tit. 63, * 427.8 (2020).


Essential Duties

Select, supervise, evaluate, and develop the faculty members of the Mathematics and Engineering Department.

Participate in the governance and committee work of the college by serving as a member (or chair) on committees/task forces as necessary to advance both the School of Mathematics and Engineering and TCC mission, vision, and values.

Provide conflict resolution and mediation for student, staff, and faculty concerns that are beyond the scope of the faculty department chair.

Administer the budget by collaborating with faculty and staff to determine funding needs and priorities, prepare the school budget, manage and transfer funds within the School's budget to support projects that accomplish student learning outcomes.

Oversee the regular review, development, and revision of articulation agreements with university partners.

Oversee the annual program review process and make recommendations regarding program productivity.

Collaborate with faculty, monitor and oversee course scheduling and faculty teaching assignments.


Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in a discipline related, but not limited to, a Mathematics or Engineering related discipline.

Experience in higher education.

Experience in leadership roles.

Philosophy compatible with those of a comprehensive urban community college.


Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree (Ph.D., J.D., Ed.D.) in a Mathematics or Engineering related discipline.

Knowledge of curriculum, program and instructional leadership for both workforce and university preparation.

Higher education teaching experience.

Familiarity with recruitment, advising, grant management.
