Marketing Manager NPD

As a new member of the Platform Development team, the Marketing Manager, NPD, will spearhead the division's growth initiatives by overseeing opportunity identification, consumer and customer insights, financial modeling, and business case development. This role involves driving idea generation and validation, managing product development and stakeholder buy-in, and ensuring effective budget and vendor management, all while leading strategic planning efforts to achieve organizational objectives.

What You Do.

• Opportunity Identification
  
  
  
  • Manages assessing the landscape to identify new product growth opportunities, including industry analyses, marketplace trend identification, category/competition assessment, supplier assessment, customer/channel opportunities and company strengths.
  • Translates understanding of Nielsen/IRI data info into actionable innovation strategies and potential size of prize.
  
  
  
  
• Consumer & Customer Insights
  
  
  
  • Manages identifying and prioritizing actionable insights by partnering with Insights, IMC and Sales.
  • Crafts insights based on unmet needs, jobs to be done, ratings and reviews, search patterns and market dynamics.
  • Translates consumer segmentation and need states into opportunity houses and strategies.
  
  
  
  
• Idea Creation & Validation
  
  
  
  • Manages the creation of new product ideas, including ideation, seedling development, clear and compelling product positioning, product packaging and artwork, pricing and sizing, concept writing and concept testing.
  • Creates clear, concise and inspiring product rendering briefs to bring new product ideas to life.
  • Partners with Insights to validate new product ideas.
  
  
  
  
• Financial Profiles & Business Cases
  
  
  
  • Manages the development of financial profiles of new products and business cases outlining financial attractiveness and market potential.
  
  
  
  
• Product Development
  
  
  
  • Leads large new platform development projects and expansion projects from idea to execution.
  • Leads cross-functional team (Project Management, R&D, Finance, Operations, Sales and Core Marketing) to build the total new product offering, go-to-market strategy and business proposition.
  
  
  
  
• Product Buy-in
  
  
  
  • Manages the buy-in of new products, including key presentations, Sales selling materials, cross-functional alignment, production readiness and Core Marketing handover.
  
  
  
  
• Budget Management
  
  
  
  • Actively monitors the NPD budget.
  • Approves Purchase Orders.
  
  
  
  
• Vendor Management
  
  
  
  • Partners with external vendors, agencies and/or consultants to strengthen new platform propositions
  
  
  
  
• Strategic Planning
  
  
  
  • Participates in strategic planning cycle and creation of initiatives.
  • Proactively brings forward new strategic thinking.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  
  
  
  

Your Education and Experience.

• 5+ years of Marketing/NPD experience in Top-Tier CPG, Food or Cheese/Dairy.
• Bachelors degree is required; MBA strongly preferred.
• Branded Core Marketing experience required.
• NPD exposure required; NPD experience preferred - consumer insights, ideation, product development, project management.
• Cross-functional leadership experience required.
