Physician - Palliative Care Cancer, Inpatient

The Inova Schar Cancer (ISC) and the Palliative Medicine & Comprehensive Care program at Inova are seeking a Hospice and Palliative Medicine BC/BE physician to join our team in the outpatient setting. This role will be full-time. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

The Palliative Medicine & Comprehensive Care acute care team at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus consists of an interdisciplinary team of 5 physicians, 3 advance practice providers, 2 palliative clinical therapists, a palliative RN, a hospice coordinator, and a dedicated chaplain. Our comprehensive, expert team, provides specialty consultation for adults throughout the 923- bed hospital campus, with a strong focus on both advanced symptom management and serious illness communication.

We aim to enhance and embed the provision of palliative care in our cancer program through expert patient care and program development. Palliative care not only improves the quality of life of our patients but can also the length of life in cancer patients. Me aim to improve health outcomes by providing effective, efficient care that is patient and family centered.

Additional Requirements:



  • Licensure - Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia
  • Experience - Successful completion of physician residency program
  • Education - Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution
  • Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Palliative Care
