The Float Pool - Emergency Department Float Pool Nurse is a versatile and highly skilled healthcare professional responsible for delivering emergency medical care to patients in the Emergency Department of both Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

This role requires adaptability, expertise, and a strong commitment to providing the best care to patients in acute medical situations. As a member of the ED float pool, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care during their most urgent moments. With passionate and driven leadership behind them, our nurses are able to dedicate themselves to patient safety, clinical excellence, and life-long learning.

Who Should Apply:




  • Associate degree in Nursing required
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • BLS CPR certification required
  • At least one year of RN experience in an ED



Applicants with an Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered; provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire

Salary Range: Minimum 36.31 per hour - Maximum 56.28 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
