Faculty Professor Assistant - Full-Time

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown invites applications for a tenure-stream, full-time position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Psychology. The area of specialization is open but expertise or experience teaching in any of the following areas are particularly desired: Research Methods, Cognitive Psychology, and Physiological Psychology.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include a 12-hour teaching load per term (i.e., 4:4 load) and an active research program including supervision of undergraduates, along with departmental, divisional, and college-wide service activities. Teaching duties include Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, Cognitive Psychology, Physiological Psychology, History and Systems and other courses in one's specialty area.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants are required to have a doctoral degree in Psychology or a related field by August 2025
  • Preferred candidates will have teaching experience in higher education
  • Preferred candidates will have experience conducting and publishing research

Starting Date: August, 2025
