Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineering Department (ME) is one of the largest academic departments on the UW-Madison campus with approximately 53 faculty, 57 academic and administrative staff, 1500 undergraduate students and 285 graduate students. As a member of the ME administrative team, this individual will work under the general supervisor of the Department Administrator along with the support of the Research Administrators and Accountant developing and documenting controls for accounting systems to ensure accurate recording and reporting to the business unit's financial transactions. Responsibilities: Performs advanced accounting duties following generally accepted accounting principles and procedures. Prepares and reviews financial reports and assists with budgeting. Ensures the accurate recording and reporting of the business unit's financial transactions.
