Job Summary:
The School of Computer, Data and Information Sciences (CDIS) is looking to build an IT team, in preparation for moving into a new building in Summer 2025. This position will be one of the IT Team members. The team lead will perform and oversee Windows, Mac and/or Unix system administration support for students, faculty, and staff, directing team activities to ensure efficient and reliable operations. The team lead will assist with managing the IT group by supporting coordination and communications, project planning and management, and providing oversight over other team members with a focus on back end systems. Additional responsibilities include managing the deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure in laboratories, meeting rooms, and public spaces. Experience in academic environments, as well as expertise in IT security and research infrastructure, is highly desirable. Responsibilities: Contributes to strategic planning and provides subject matter expertise regarding the design, integration, delivery, and provides innovative and strategically significant consultation, project management, and operational support of applications or services, development operations (DevOps), affecting multiple disciplines or work units. Anticipates issues, devises resolution methodology, and provides long term and non-routine assistance to ensure subsystems and infrastructure function together and business needs are met. Serves as a subject matter expert, internal and external point of contact, and provides guidance to leadership on technology strategies and critical technology issues.
