How Is This Role Important to Our Work?
This high level sales position develops, directs and gains executive certification of an account business plan for key jumbo accounts. The incumbent executes the plan for revenue, growth, operational effectiveness and profitability by leading a cross-functional team. The incumbent manages the relationships with a broad range of executive and staff contacts within Blue Cross and the client to ensure business objectives are met and client loyalty is achieved using the most efficient and effective resources.
A Day in the Life:
- Creates, and gains formal executive certification of a client business plan for retention, growth, operational effectiveness and profitability.
- Be a knowledge leader in emerging market issues, and be consultative and interactive with clients about innovation, opportunities, and solutions that translate into being a trusted resource for the client.
- Leads the cross-divisional execution of the business plan to ensure corporate growth and revenue targets are achieved by the dates specified.
- Leads client negotiations for products, services and prices using exceptional strategic selling skills including discovery, sales cycles maintenance, tactical planning and closing in a complex sales environment.
- Establish, build and maintain positive, professional relationships at all decision levels within assigned accounts and within Blue Cross according to a defined relationship management plan.
- Builds high customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Delivers value-added solutions using a professional consultative selling approach to ensure client loyalty and efficiency of Blue Cross resource use.
- Communicate emerging market trends, client issues, and opportunities in a solution oriented manner.
- Keep management apprised and make recommendations.
- Serve as a corporate resource in strategy, product, solution development and staff mentoring.
- Demonstrate continuous learning and leadership in the industry and profession.
A Day in the Life:
Required Skills and Experiences:
- 5+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
- Ability to develop an account business plan and obtain executive certification of that plan.
- Working knowledge of key health plan functions including marketing, operations, and finance is required in order to develop an account business plan.
- Displays strong ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive product and strategy development and execution.
- Demonstrates superior knowledge in the healthcare and benefits industry with five or more years in the benefits or health insurance industry.
- Ability to apply expert selling and account management skills in ambiguous or complex situations with five years in the profession.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills (internal/external).
- Ability to work across systems and functions to facilitate solutions and capabilities development.
- Demonstrated creativity in solution development with a strong sense of urgency.
- Positive thinker/self-starter.
- Skillful negotiator; ability to influence internal and external customers.
- Leadership skills.
- Possess and maintain a valid MN Resident Producer License in the lines of Life & Health/ Accident in good standing within 60 days of employment.
Compensation and Benefits: Pay Range: $155,000.00 - $160,000.00 - $165,000.00 Annual + Commission Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
