This position reports directly to our Chief Credit Officer and will also work closely with the Commercial Loan team. Position Overview:

The Credit Analyst II assists the Chief Credit Officer in ongoing credit administration as well as underwritings in the Commercial Loan portfolio.

Essential Duties:
  • Develops and prepares detailed financial analyses on financial statements of complex existing and prospective customers to determine credit worthiness, collateral coverage, debt service capacity and risk profile. Analysis will include comprehending fund accounting for lending to not-for-profits, lending to non-owner-occupied real estate and cash flow lending.
  • Spreads financial statements on Financial Analyzer.
  • Drafts commercial loan proposals for presentation to the Board of Investment. Presentations will include financial analyses as well as integrating relevant external factors such as management, market, industry and economic climate.
  • Presents analysis, findings and recommendations to Sr. Credit Officer in reviewing portfolios of lending Officers, evaluates collateral, borrower's financial condition, debt service capacity and adequacy of file data.
  • Assists in preparing written analysis and brings and problems to Sr. Credit Officer's attention.
  • Prepares documentation for the internal loan review process requiring timely submission of credit write-ups, scheduling and preparing the agenda and minutes for review by internal and external examiners, auditors and regulators.
  • Engages in ongoing contact with clients as well as accountants involving discussions of the financial statements.
  • Maintains high quality credit files and monitors past due loans/expired facilities on an ongoing basis.
  • Keeps up to date with the bank's lending protocols and identifies exceptions to policy.
  • Participates in projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, business or other related field of study is required
  • Minimum 3 years commercial credit or commercial lending experience required; 5 years preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks within defined responsibilities
  • Knowledge of general banking operations and activities is desired
  • Must possess excellent analytical & numeric skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are needed.
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task while managing several items simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy in all Microsoft applications is necessary for success.
  • Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas and information consistently, effectively in both written and verbal communications.
