Job Title: Material Handler

Job Location: Cockeysville, MD

Hourly Rate: Up to $19hr depending on experience.

Shift: 1st shift: (6:00am - 2:30pm)

Job Summary:


  • Come join our team! We currently have an exciting opportunity in Cockeysville, MD for a Material Handler with 1+ years of experience in material handling, inventory control, warehouse operations.


Job Description:


  • Receives, identifies, stores, and delivers a wide variety of raw material and manufactured/purchased parts for additional processing, assembly, machining, or direct shipment.
  • This role also labels, packs, and loads items for shipment according to specifications.
  • Work from shop orders, receiving reports, material requisitions, repair order lists and/or verbal instructions to identify disposition of materials.
  • Assist with receiving, identifying, issuing, and storing material/parts in established location using appropriate identification method.
  • Fill and distribute basic material and repair orders.
  • Label, pack, and load items for shipment according to specifications.
  • Assist with unloading of incoming trucks as directed; inspect for damage; compare items and quantities received against freight bills.
  • Assist with maintaining records of all items received and shipped.
  • Assist with cycle count to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with detection of defective materials, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor.
  • Operate materials handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or organize storage.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements (USA only).
  • Correctly label and date hazardous waste drums and transfer to authorized waste vendor.
  • Recognize spills/leaks and handle as trained and in accordance with company policy.
  • Attend team meetings; may provide input on quality, cost, or production issues.
  • Regularly and effectively communicate and interact with other team members.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at the worksite and on any assigned shift or work schedule is required for this position, as is the ability to work frequent overtime; this is not a job that can be performed remotely.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in clean and orderly fashion.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required:


  • 1+ years of experience in material handling, inventory control, warehouse operations.
  • Basic experience with shipping notices, packing lists and assembly prints.
  • Ability to operate various materials handling equipment.
  • Must have 1+ years of experience operating Forklifts, certification is a plus.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Team oriented.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Clerical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.


Education:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
