The Vice President of Operations - Aggregate and Asphalt provides strategic leadership for 20 plus Aggregates and Asphalt operations in Arizona and New Mexico.

What You'll Do:



  • Provide strategic leadership for operations, aligned with the Vulcan Way of Operating.
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Drive operational performance through effective planning, goal setting, and coaching.
  • Collaborate with sales to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture focused on problem-solving.
  • Maintain high standards for material quality and production processes.
  • Collaborate with technical support functions on engineering initiatives.
  • Implement proactive maintenance programs to optimize equipment and site efficiency.
  • Develop and execute strategies to reduce costs and improve productivity.
  • Manage and direct automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the annual operating and capital budget process.
  • Participate in divisional short- and long-range business planning.
  • Oversee plant engineering plans to ensure modern equipment and site development.
  • Ensure compliance with all permits and reclamation plans.
  • Oversee comprehensive training and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and open communication.
  • Develop and mentor staff to ensure effective succession planning.
  • Identify new business opportunities and participate in potential acquisitions.
  • Champion the adoption of new technologies to increase efficiency and sustainability.


What You'll Need:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in Aggregate operations management is required. Asphalt operations experience a plus but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of aggregate production processes, equipment, and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving financial and operational targets.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations.
