Role Purpose Statement:

The Manager of Deal Operations will lead the Deal Operations function, overseeing the strategic and operational aspects of deal structuring, pricing, and contracting. This role will collaborate closely with sales, finance, legal, and other cross-functional teams to optimize deal profitability, mitigate risks, and drive revenue growth.

Main Responsibilities:



  • Lead the Deal Operations function, providing strategic guidance and operational support to the sales team throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and legal teams to structure complex deals, ensuring alignment with business objectives, pricing guidelines, and profitability targets.
  • Review and analyze sales opportunities, identifying risks, opportunities, and potential deal structures to maximize win rates and revenue growth.
  • Develop and maintain deal pricing strategies and models, incorporating competitive analysis, market dynamics, and customer value propositions.
  • Provide guidance on pricing and discounting decisions, balancing revenue objectives with customer needs and market competitiveness.
  • Conduct financial analysis and business case evaluations to assess deal profitability, including revenue recognition, margins, and cash flow implications.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to review and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Develop and enhance Deal Operations processes, tools, and systems to streamline deal approvals, pricing governance, and contract management.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including sales leadership, finance, legal, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor and analyze deal performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement and revenue optimization.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitive dynamics, and industry best practices related to deal structuring and pricing strategies.


Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 9-11 years of experience in deal operations, sales operations, finance, or related roles, preferably in the technology or software industry.
  • Proven experience in managing deal operations activities, including deal structuring, pricing, and contracting.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and assess deal profitability.
  • Solid understanding of revenue recognition principles, pricing strategies, and contract terms and conditions.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to synthesize information into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using Excel or other tools.
  • Experience with deal operation automation tools and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Finance.
  • Experience in deal operation management within the technology or software industry.
  • Familiarity with subscription-based business models and recurring revenue streams.
  • Knowledge of contract management tools and processes.
  • Professional certifications in finance, pricing, or related fields (e.g., CPQ, CSM).


Salary Range: $121,000 - $151,000

In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
