The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $54,800.00 - $82,200.00

Job Description

Job Profile Summary:

The Marketing Specialist II will work with the tracking, reporting and coordination of marketing campaigns, programs and research in support of university marketing initiatives. This person will work independently and in collaboration with key marketing, university programs and strategic relations staff to establish new campaigns, track and report results, assist the department with budget and resource management, conduct market and program research, perform data analysis, interpret reporting and market research results, apply findings to marketing initiatives and heavily assist in such things as: initiating direct mail campaigns, establishing and overseeing a robust referral program, new program launches, program retirements and maintaining partnership relationships through development of marketing support initiatives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Develop, track and analyze research specific to university programs and partnerships.

  • Conduct market research, analyze, report findings and provide success metrics.
  • Develops surveys, focus groups etc. to test the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.
  • Communicates research findings to the appropriate audiences.
  • Plans and implements action items in response to research findings.
  • Tracks and reports results.

2. Develops and implements marketing plans in support of programs and partnerships

  • Ensures tactics are identified, appropriate, tracked, reviewed and assessed.
  • Ensures quality standards are met.

3. Develops and implements procedures/processes/checklists in support of programs, partnerships and research initiatives in collaboration with key university project managers

  • Creates plans, tracks results and measures progress.
  • Develops marketing strategies and integrated plans in support of program and partnership objectives.
  • Contributes to program and service messaging under guidance of marketing leadership.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Qualitatively strong and adept with spreadsheets, data bases, analytics and statistical data.
  • Exceptionally strong skill set in research practices: qualitative and quantitative.
  • Strong in strategic analysis with the ability to review data and research findings, identify significant trends, identify implications and opportunities, then craft marketing initiative to address the issues.
  • Must possess excellent writing skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience.

Department Specific Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or a related degree required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, internet research and statistical analysis.
  • Strong, demonstrated project management orientation necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position & Application Details
