Overview:

The Junior Video Editor is an entry level position working in a variety of support functions for the editorial team. This role will utilize both creative and technical skills to complete early and finishing stages of digital video edits across a range of formats, concepts, and brands. From pulling selects to finalizing and delivering projects, this role will be crucial to the efficiency and ultimate success of Conde Nast's digital content. The Junior Video Editor reports to the Supervising Editor and works closely with Editors, Assistant Editors, Senior Editors, and Post Production Supervisors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist editors and post production team as needed

  • Create assemblies based on paper cuts, perform cut-downs, and pull selects

  • Execute rounds of notes for editors as needed

  • Assist with the video finishing process; prep sequences for color correction and audio mixing, execute and upload deliverables, handle QC revisions

  • Deliver audio and video cue sheets per episode

  • Ensure projects are prepped for archiving

  • Edit light-lift, simple video concepts or other video projects

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of editing or assistant editing experience in a post-production facility

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite required

  • Comprehensive understanding of media codecs, aspect ratios, bit rates, compression, and finishing processes (color/mix prep/conform, QC, delivery)

  • Familiarity with post-production processes, workflows, and best practices

  • Ability to multitask in a busy environment, stay organized, and hit deadlines

  • Proactive self-starter with interest in developing/honing edit skills and growing at Conde Nast

  • Must be a strong communicator, team player, and flexible with changing asks or priorities

This is a guild position.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $75,000-$85,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.

In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
