Biorepository Research Tech- Days 8a-430p

The Biorepository Research Technician has responsibility for the overall direction and management of a tissue biorepository at Norton Hospital. This individual will be involved in the collection and preservation of human tissue for research studies and clinical trials. Responsibilities will include handling of reagents and buffers, organizing tissue sample schedules, tissue collection in the pathology department, careful and accurate maintenance of records, and assisting in the research-related tasks on specific projects. Must be familiar with regulations for shipping biological samples. Individual must be familiar with interacting with patients and will need to obtain informed consent and conduct occasional phone follow-up. Knowledge of data entry and electronic medical records (EMR) required.

Required:

• One year handling, processing, storing, and shipping biological (e.g., blood and tissue) samples.
