Your Role at Baxter

You have deep knowledge of and experience with maintaining manufacturing processes. You understand the importance of building relationships, establishing order, and maintaining clear communication channels. As a Maintenance Manager, you are a leader who is willing to listen and inspire others by your actions. You also appreciate the stability of a large multinational company with a long history of growth and success. Your team is an extension of your family, and you know how to support them as individuals while helping them achieve results as a team.

You own the strategic planning of the assigned maintenance department. You provide leadership within the maintenance organization and lead the organization's engineers, supervisors and technicians. Responsible for the area budget and headcount resources. Advise the team on completing projects and programs within boundaries of quality, time and budget. Based on significant technical and managerial expertise, creates a strategy and structure to improve asset availability for the department. Provides technical direction to staff and cultivate an environment of creativity and innovation in completing departmental responsibilities and goals.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing strategic planning leadership by setting strategies and priorities based upon anticipation and application of industry trends and emerging technologies.

  • Creating and maintaining an environment where team members experience personal and professional growth and become a more self-directed team.

  • Using broad knowledge and experience in cross-functional activities, to coordinate and direct activities of teams and individual contributors to ensure asset reliability and availability.

  • Creating and implementing effective strategies to improve maintenance metrics, personnel knowledge and skills, ultimately increasing asset availability.

  • Increase the effectiveness of internal and external resources (business unit and cross-business unit) to meet departmental objectives.

  • Advising on the implementation of new technologies to increase asset availability. Provide leadership to ensure adequate resources are available to complete all departmental responsibilities.

  • Drive the site wide culture as it relates to equipment reliability

  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.

  • Learn, understand and apply thorough quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Concentration in Engineering Field, preferably. (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical Controls, Mechatronics, Automation)

  • 8 or more years of relevant technical experience. Several years of technical management experience including cross-functional teams, resource and budget management.

  • Must possess a proven understanding of maintenance management (e.g. technical knowledge, maintenance metrics and computerized maintenance management systems) and show knowledge of related fields within the maintenance department.

  • Ability to establish annual business plans which anticipate trends, technical, and financial conditions.

  • Possess thorough understanding of Preventive Maintenance Programs and how to establish in a multi-layered manufacturing facility

  • Demonstrate understanding of business drivers, customer needs and process improvement.

  • Proven record of management/leadership effectiveness.

  • A strong ability to negotiate and improve effectiveness of resources and influence others internally and externally.

  • Understand safety and quality requirements. Be able to read and comprehend documents and engineering drawings.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
