Position Summary: Specialist, Merch Planning & Reporting

Responsible for supporting vendor planning, merchandising and planning functions, providing analytics, tracking performance, troubleshooting, developing and updating reports, and providing systems support.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:



  • Support Merchandise Planning through annual budget and monthly forecast processes, communicating due dates, validating results, and supporting applications and databases to archive data
  • Transform multiple submitted team reports into executive level views used to support key business processes including Joint Business Planning, Vendor Funding, Annual Budget, Advertising Tracking, In-stock, Fill-rate, Forecast Accuracy, and other Merchandising reports
  • Gather user requirements and partner with Data and Business Intelligence (BI) teams to create dashboards and reports that support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes
  • Perform data analysis ensuring accurate data interpretation while investigating and correcting any inaccuracies
  • Leverage technical skills to manipulate large data sets with MS office tools into consumable, intuitive reports, that assist Merchandising teams with KPIs to aid in decision making
  • Utilize macros, VBA, and SQL scripts to pull and automate reports within Excel and MS Access, enhancing efficiency in data handling.
  • Track and report on marketing initiatives, focusing on store activations and related inventory stocking levels and sales performance.
  • Support vendor funding tasks with data entry, communicating term changes, and providing accurate deal details to ensure transactions and accrued and deducted properly from vendors
  • Document business processes with step-by-step instructions to support resource library
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for system updates, resolving bug fixes, issues, data corrections and enhancements.
  • Create and escalate tickets to log issues with appropriate teams, providing steps taken, screen shots showing errors and unexpected results
  • Assist in merchandising and Planning tasks, planning and tracking objectives to enhance operational transparency and actionable insights.
  • Additional duties as assigned


To join our band, you'll need the following experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of relevant work experience), preferably in Business, with 4 years of relevant work experience in Planning or a similar field.
  • Skilled proficiency modeling and building complex reports in Excel and Access.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a focus on organizational skills and time management to meet deadlines.
  • Fundamental understanding of Business Intelligence and graphical reporting tools, including Microstrategy and Tableau, as well as data mining functions, advanced Excel formulas, Excel pivot tables, and data queries of external databases.

Pay Rate:$30.00- $37.00/hr depending on background and experience.
