Why Gallo?

With a global portfolio of over 100 unique wine and spirits brands, we are the largest family-owned winery in the world. Apply Today! Our Brands. Your Future.

Join our dynamic team as a Winemaker/Spirits Maker, where you will play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional wines and spirits. We seek an individual who comprehends the full winemaking and spirits-making process, from grape to bottle, and possesses the ability to influence the quality and style of the final product. Your expertise will ensure that our blends meet targeted run-out dates and maintain balanced bulk inventory, all while seeing the big picture and understanding how your programs fit into it.

You will manage the entire cellar process, including ingredient additions, racks, transfers, clarification, blends, shipping, and final preparation for bottling. Your role will involve creating a harvest ingredient plan that ensures all final blends align with desired styles and costs. You will make critical decisions related to grape receiving, crushing, pressing, fermentation, solids management, and other harvest-related ingredients, understanding how these choices impact the wine's quality and style.

You will be responsible for vineyard decisions for your assigned programs and actively participate in the wine/spirits tasting process, ensuring that flavor profiles meet marketing needs. Identifying aromas and flavors, you will recommend treatments to improve quality and ensure blends are approved timely and cost-effectively, ready to ship or bottle with minimal impact on finished goods inventory.

Your innovative spirit will shine as you initiate and develop trials and experiments to enhance quality and efficiency within the winery. You will participate in cross-functional continuous improvement teams, maintaining wines within internal "gold standard" specifications. Conducting fining trials, defect mitigation, and general risk assessments will be part of your routine, alongside presenting your findings to internal and external customers.

We value intrapreneurship and ownership, encouraging bold thinking, appropriate risk-taking, and innovation. You will set high expectations, drive candid discussions, and hold yourself and others accountable. If you oversee others, you will also handle performance evaluations, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions as needed, ensuring a supportive and communicative work environment. Join us in this exciting journey of winemaking and spirits crafting, where your expertise and passion will make a lasting impact.
