We are seeking a Principal Advisor in Geometallurgy to join the Nuton technical team. In this role, you will provide expert guidance and support in collaborating with partners and evaluating the feasibility and implementation of Nuton technology at partner sites. Key responsibilities include advising on resource and orebody evaluations, overseeing sample selection, providing direction for laboratory and large-scale testing, contributing to predictive process modeling, and analyzing outcomes. You will also be involved in reviewing engineering designs, estimating capital and operating costs, and supporting financial modeling and business case assessments to drive informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and working in a collaborative community of experts in the bio leaching field, you will:

Opportunity Assessment

Conduct comprehensive assessments of geological, mineralogical, and metallurgical data to evaluate new project opportunities for the Nuton technology. Provide expert opinions on the potential value of these opportunities to the Nuton leadership team.

Geometallurgical Expertise

Utilize extensive knowledge of geometallurgy to guide the Nuton Options Assessment Teams in selecting optimal samples and engaging effectively with partners.

Project Support

Collaborate with Nuton Delivery Managers throughout various project phases, offering technical guidance and support for test work programs at facilities such as Bundoora and Hazen. Ensure adherence to Nuton's intellectual property and best practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with engineering service providers, Nuton Technology Transfer team and project managers to maximize the application of Nuton technology to facilitate communication and knowledge sharing among stakeholders.

Technology Development

Actively participate in the long-term strategic planning of the Nuton venture to identify areas for technological improvement and guide the implementation of these advancements.

Program Management

Collaborate with the Technology Development Manager to develop, monitor, and report on relevant evaluation and technology development programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

What You'll Bring:

  • A strong commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
  • A bachelor's or advanced degree in metallurgy, geology, or a related geo-sciences field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in geometallurgical assessments and the development and implementation of geometallurgical studies within the mining sector.
  • Proven expertise in copper heap leaching operations and related processes.
  • Exceptional cross-functional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to facilitate the effective exchange of information with internal teams and external partners.
