Job Description

Our Team in Plymouth, MN is seeking a Buyer to join the Danfoss Team! This role will be responsible for managing the procurement of Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) product, to support the production and operations of Danfoss Power Solutions - Connect & Control Solutions Business Unit. Partner with Strategic Purchasing; Functions as a global liaison with other Danfoss procurement teams; Supports Business Unit departments with EMS information/data related to the Global Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) Supply Chain.This position is based on Plymouth/MN, reporting to local Supply Chain/Production Manager. It is important to have a very strong understanding of EMS, contract manufacturing and the electronics industry.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.



  • Maintain Purchase Order delivery dates and master data in SAP as required to support the supply chain process
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with internal customers & external suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries align with Danfoss production and shipping schedules
  • Conduct regular meetings with suppliers to understand build plans and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor electronics market trends and proactively anticipate supply risks, initiating and communicating necessary actions to optimize delivery performance and maintain production schedules
  • Implement and maintain inventory and material management strategies for all PCBAs. Example: Minimizing inventory levels through global SLA agreements, safety stocks, coverage profiles etc.
  • Business Travel (including international): Less than 5%

Background & Skills

Required (basic) qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or supply chain management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience purchasing in an electronics environment
  • Experience using lean methodology processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint



Preferred qualifications



  • Experience working in a global supply chain environment
  • MRP/ERP experience with strong SAP experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Supply chain accreditation CPSM, CPIM, CPM or other
  • Experience with automation of repetitive tasks using Power BI
