- Acting expert in the CO2 capture, treatment and potential valorization process as applied to lime & dolime manufacturing.
- Drive energy efficiency diagnosis on capture technologies adapted to lime kilns and associated equipment (burners, heat exchangers, fans) to identify the most appropriate, cost-valuable solutions for industrial implementation, drawing on expert knowledge of energy technologies, processes, thermodynamics, physical chemistry.
- Direct process upscaling from laboratory scale to pilot to industrial scale unit in the frame of process R&D projects.
- Possesses strong, current knowledge of the latest developments in calcination, industrial combustion (burners, pyrolysis, gasification), and technologies that can impact lime & dolime manufacturing, including CO2 reduction
- Expert in heat and mass transfer in moving and fixed beds, heat exchangers, fluid mechanics and circuits (pressure drop, fans, blowers, pumps, piping).
- Strong understanding of direct air capture (DAC) technology involving; crushed limestone absorption cycled through heating, hydration, air exposure, and liquid sorbent through closed chemical loops to continuously remove CO2.
- Expert in leading design and construction of DAC systems through independent engineering, technical advisory, or related due-diligence review, or technical industrial processes of high-level of complexity.
- Utilizes strong understanding of DAC systems and equipment including; performance testing, structured sorbent and sorbent beds, vacuum cycling, heating and cooling pressurized container, catalysts, process racking, airflow distribution, air contactors, pellet reactors, slakers, centrifuges, calciners, steam distribution systems, vacuum cooling and evacuation, laminates, and CO2 compression systems.
