Play an important role in the analysis, origination, underwriting, and portfolio management of new and existing commercial real estate loans. Spread financial statements and/or tax returns. Provide a written review of the details resulting from analyzing the financial statements. Build financial models and supplemental analytic content. Prepare financial projections based on client input. Projections should include most likely scenario, best case scenario and breakeven/stressed scenario. Identify material changes and trends on the financial statements and analyze the cash flow for proposed and/or existing deals. Present underwriting for renewals and annual reviews and any necessary pre-meeting client analysis. Use critical thinking skills to analyze and make approval recommendations on loan underwritings. Identify key risks and determine appropriate mitigating factors to those risks associated with new loan underwritings and ongoing loan portfolio management. Draft well-written credit packages for new loans, renewals, and annual/quarterly reviews that clearly states the risks and key considerations for doing business with the client or prospect. Assist in the loan closing process in conjunction with legal counsel, title/escrow, and Borrower. Help monitor the existing commercial real estate loan portfolio. Assist in the calculation of covenants and review of loan draw requests. Routinely monitor loans for compliance. Ensure compliance with all established credit policies/guidelines. Utilize external resources such as appraisals, rent rolls, industry information and market information to help determine adequacy of deal structure, cash flow and collateral. Provide customer service to current and prospective borrowers, research borrower needs, answer questions, conduct routine research and solve routine problems. Remain current on policy or procedural changes and new product offerings. Complete special projects on an as-needed basis. Identify product/service opportunities for other business units and participate in development of creative solutions to client needs. May accompany relationship managers on business calls.

Position Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree is required and 5+ years of related commercial real estate experience. Role requires an understanding of real estate cash flows and operating statements for income-generating RE projects (office, industrial, retail, apartments, hotels).Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and interpret quantitative data and formulate sound conclusions. Solid knowledge of banking, including an understanding of commercial real estate lending, regulations, and bank policies and procedures.
  • Experience with preparation of financial projections, spreading financial statements and preparation of written analysis reports. Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Sound judgment, decision-making ability, and the ability to work in pressure situations. Ability to operate effectively in a team environment, as well as able to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Intermediate to Advanced Adobe Acrobat user. Knowledge of SalesForce/database structures a plus.
