Job Summary:

Overseas the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department. Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed. Assesses equipment and work order back log to plan work assignments and project schedules. Develops maintenance procedures and schedules. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Required Education/Experience:


  • Two years of technical school including electrical, PLC's, hydraulics & pneumatics preferred but not required.
  • Two years of maintenance experience, preferably in an industrial setting. Emphasis on PLC's, hydraulics and mechanical.


  • Understanding and experience with: Hydraulics, Electrical, Combustion systems, Thermocouples, Mechanical, Welding, Microsoft Word and Excel.



Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Basic level PLC experience, preferably Allen Bradley.
  • SLC 500's systems, RSLogix 500 software.
  • PLC 5's systems, RSLogix 5 software.
  • ControlLogix Systems, RSLogix 5000 software.
  • Panelview operator terminals, Panelbuilder software.
  • Extrusion background preferred but not required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Abide by company and worksite safety policies to achieve a "Safety First" workplace.
  • Ensure all EHS regulatory obligations relating to carryout operating duties are completed in consultation with the site EHS managers required by the relevant regulations or permit.
  • Ensure housekeeping, productivity and quality of work standards are maintained.
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise in the work of the crew responsible maintenance of the facility.
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance and repair services; identify resource needs; allocate resources accordingly.
  • Supervise Routine Maintenance includes PM plans and preservation activities such as lubrication, inspections, testing and PDM. Back log relief deals with investigation, repair, and restoration activities. Maintain schedule compliance and priority.
  • Emergence response immediately action to address breakdowns and other "unplanned" or developed conditions. Streamline associated repair costs and job execution.
