General Information Country: USA State: Michigan City: Kentwood Office Location: 4380 52nd street - - - - - Date posted: 20-Jan-2025 Business Function: Manufacturing/Operations Position Type: Full-Time/Regular Description We are hiring a Facilities Engineer to join our Facilities Services Team, where we pride ourselves on maintaining a high standard of operational efficiency and excellence. We are seeking an individual with a flexible, agile mindset who will manage a wide variety of tasks and maintenance activities across facilities in the Grand Rapids area. Who You Are: You have a technical skillset in the built environment with a track record of maintaining safe, positive, and professional experiences for employees and customers. Minimum Qualifications 3-7 years' experience in plant engineering, or a related field, such as consulting. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a plant engineering related science (i.e. civil, electrical, or mechanical) Thorough knowledge of manufacturing and production operation. Ability to apply sound engineering and management principles relating to the field of experience. High level of communication skills required, both verbal and written. Ability to state views concisely to drafters and other engineers, production personnel, related department supervision, other co-workers, suppliers, contractors, and consultants. What You Will Be Doing: This person will be responsible for making sure our buildings are running properly and efficiently. A primary focus of the role will be supporting the building from a maintenance and repair perspective. This includes activities such as: Maintain multiple facilities from a building perspective (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, compressed air, etc.) Responsible for building and site maintenance Conduct building and site repairs as needed Perform major equipment moves and installations across plants Monitor gas and electricity usage in plants Work closely with maintenance crews and contractors on a regular basis Maintain roads, sidewalks, parking lots, and other exterior areas Shift between maintenance/repair work and project work as needed Wellbeing Means so Much More than Benefits, you may be interested in: Nurse and massage therapist onsite for employees Cell phone stipend monthly Employee assistance program, providing free counseling, financial resilience, and legal guidance Ongoing learning through LinkedIn Learning Who We Are: Steelcase is a global design and thought leader in the world of work.
