Functional area: Administration Remuneration: Non-Exempt We are looking for a Document Specialist to join our team, reporting to the Land/Title Coordinator. This individual will support the land acquisition efforts of the Development & Land Team to acquire and maintain the necessary land rights needed to construct and operate renewable energy projects. This is a full-time, contract position. Key Responsibilities:
- Research online records for vesting deeds, tax cards, and tax maps
- Visit courthouses when vesting deeds are not available online
- Review and confirm legal descriptions
- Prepare necessary documents
- Maintain a tracking spreadsheet
- Participate in necessary meetings
- Assist with other land related tasks, as they may become available and as time allows
Qualifications:
- College Degree, preferred
- Ability to read legal descriptions preferred but not required.
- Real estate or title experience, preferred but not required.
- Strong typing skills; ability to fill in basic information into form documents
- Ability to read real estate document and extract necessary information for document preparation
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent proof-reading skills
- Ability to evaluate and resolve issues
- Concise communicator, both written and verbal skills
- Willingness to learn new skills
