Reporting to the MFC Instrumentation and Controls Supervisor, you will develop finite knowledge related to:



  • Calibrate and repair instrumentation and associated equipment.
  • Measure levels, pressures, temperatures and flow.
  • Install control and measurement instruments on our research equipment and facility infrastructure systems.
  • Utilize manuals, reading and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Utilize test equipment to troubleshoot and analyze instrumentation related circuits.
  • Work with electronic control systems including microprocessors, sensors, and final control elements used in automated processes.


This team works a 4x10 schedule and works onsite at our Materials and Fuels Complex located near Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Qualifications

  • 1st year or 2nd year enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying in the Energy Systems Technology & Education Center (ESTEC) Program.
  • A minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:



  • Undergraduate Internships ($25.65/hour - $30.70/hour)
  • Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($31.75/hour - $34.06/hour)
  • PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($33.75/hour - $36.06/hour)
  • Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.
