The Community Services Supervisor is responsible for direct oversight of Community Service Case Specialists and Business Associates. This job coordinates programs and services to justice-involved defendants, criminal justice agencies and partners to enhance service delivery and improve outcomes.

Duties
-
Supervisor:
* Manages staff workloads, schedules, and time off requests.
* Defines job roles and responsibilities, sets work expectations, including daily work activities and ensures accountability.
* Issues formal performance evaluations, provides constructive feedback and affirms employee's strengths; provides guidance and administers crucial conversations and corrective actions (with approval from HR and Legal) and ensures employee relations issues are handled legally and within guidelines/policy.
* Advertises, interviews and hires staff; develops training plans, coaches and mentors a high performing team; and supports skills, personal and career development within the team.
* Collaborates with peers to ensure assessment reports are completed and appropriate workflows are efficient amongst division.
Functional:
* Performs Community Service Case Specialist duties, serving as subject matter expert and point of contact for questions, concerns, issues and resolutions, escalating to Program Administrator when appropriate.
Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
* Technical Skills: Must have very strong computer skills. Must have the ability to facilitate unit meetings. Must have high knowledge of the various computer software systems and monitoring equipment utilized by Judicial Services.
* Public Relations/Customer Services: Must be able to establish and maintain positive relations with various criminal justice agencies, external customers serviced by the Community Service program.
* Supervisory Effectiveness: Must be able to train co-workers, provide guidance and direction to others. Must be able to provide objective and appropriate feedback to co-workers. Must be familiar with County personnel policies and effective documentation practices.
* Communication: Must be able to adequately address issues and problems through effective oral and written communication.
* Teamwork/Cooperation: Must be able to facilitate teamwork among co-workers, peers, and management and foster a positive work environment.

Requirements

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, public administration, or related field.
- 3+ years' experience working in criminal justice environment
- Knowledge of basic principles of restorative justice.
- Any equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job will be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Previous Lead or Supervisory experience

PRE-EMPLOYMENT ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Must successfully pass pre-employment testing with includes an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) check and background check.
POST-EMPLOYEMENT ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Possession of a valid Class "R" Colorado Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within two weeks of appointment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
* Work is performed primarily in a standard office. Travel to the satellite offices, community corrections programs, or other specified location may be required as business needs dictate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
* In the office spends 90% of each day sitting and another 10% either walking or upright.
* Occasionally lifts, carries, pulls or pushes up to 20 lbs.
* Occasionally climbs, stoops, kneels, balances, reaches, crawls and crouches while performing office or work duties.
* Oral and auditory capacity enabling constant interpersonal communication through automated devices, such as the telephone and computer email system.
* Constant use of hand, finger, and eye coordination enabling operation of office and field equipment.
* Visual capacity enabling constant use of computer or other work-related equipment.
