JOB DIMENSIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel (Litigation and Intellectual Property), Deputy General Counsel (Compliance/Employment Law) and Manager Legal Administration
to maintain professional and efficient performance of the delivery of legal services to the law department attorneys and their clients.
- Looking for experienced professionals who can meet deadlines, while maintaining a professional and positive attitude, who work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team with all staff and attorneys.
- Position touches all aspects of litigation management and support. Responsibilities include:
- substantial interface with corporate, plant and outside counsel staff; document review for relevance, privilege, responsiveness, trade secrets/confidentiality;
- drafting correspondence, memoranda, summaries and reports; drafting and coordinating discovery requests and responses;
- responding to agency information requests;
- preparing information for compliance issues;
- database and spreadsheet design and management;
- conducting legal, regulatory and non-legal research via Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw and the Internet; conducting factual research;
- tracking expenses and budgets, and legal invoice management
- contract review and database entry;
- notifying and communicating with insurance carriers and other indemnitors;
- maintaining internal litigation docketing system and electronic case monitoring
- review and recommend activities, technologies or processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs (15%)

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or a paralegal certificate is required. In lieu of a paralegal certificate, at least five (5) years of paralegal experience. At least 5-10 years paralegal experience preferred.
- Paralegal experience in litigation management including computer databases and spreadsheets
- Proficiency with case law research via the Internet, Lexis/Nexis and/or Westlaw.
- Proficiency with accessing court docketing systems, included Federal Court database (PACER)
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, litigation management software (Relativity); experience with CounselLink a plus
