JOB SUMMARY

The Assembler will assemble small components. This role will assemble the THP product line (OF/OF2, N2 systems, N2 Generator). This role will also braze and weld. This role will also have large assembly projects (Tap Changer Overhauls, LRT200 builds). 70% of the role will consist of Assembly and teardown, 20% of the role will consist of sub-assembly, and the remaining 10% of the role will be testing, inspection, and work product and station clean-up.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assembly of small components as well as large assembly projects.
  • Braze and weld.
  • Train new hires on shop layout and different functions.
  • Drive as needed (Plating, ACT, ACCU Machining).
  • Exceed or meet Work Order build times.
  • Clean parts
  • Inspect parts to print to verify assembly.
  • Keep work area clean and free of hazards.
  • Maintaining acceptable production rate while not sacrificing quality of work.
  • Meeting customer and company quality standards.
  • Minimizing rework and scrap.
  • Optimizing setup time.
  • Must adhere to all company safety standards.
  • Must provide support to other departments on an as needed basis.
  • Day to day work assignments may increase in complexity and volume
  • Assemblers work with and are trained on Proprietary Information. This information is company confidential. They are expected to control this information as prescribed in the business policies manual.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrate the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic understanding of electrical components.
  • Familiar with basic measuring tools (Calipers)
  • Able to read and interpret detailed wiring diagrams, and drawings.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic shop tools.
  • Good eye hand coordination and manual dexterity skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must develop a good understanding of company quality standards.
  • Must be able to provide accurate "time required" estimates.
  • Must be a team player.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of assembly experience in one of the listed fields above
