Student Intern RN - Med/Surg

The Student Extern is an adjunct to the patient care team. The extern performs at the level that has successfully been completed and passed in the clinical section at a local college. Under the general supervision of an RN the extern provides direct patient care in accordance with the established protocols, the skills they are able to perform are expanded. All newly hired externs will first function in the capacity of a nursing assistant, regardless of their nursing program clinical level. When the student has been cleared by the Supervisor, they may be moved to their appropriate skill level.

Nurse Interns are ADN/BSN students who have completed at least the first year of their nursing program. They are partnered with RNs to put their knowledge into practice and gain valuable hands-on patient care experience while they complete their degree.

Internships will start in May 2025 and conclude in May 2026 (or upon graduation if before May 2026).

Must be able to work a minimum of 4 shifts per month for entire Internship length.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Successfully completed the first year of a nursing program

2. Must be in good and academic standing

3. Current Basic Life Support Certification

4. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
